Treat Habits as Processes

Every habit is made of three parts... a cue, a routine and a habit. Most people focus on the routine and behavior, but these cues and rewards are really the way you make something into a habit.

Habits are what we can repeatedly do.

That makes habits the same as processes.

As a process, the steps of a habit can be documented.

As a process, the process can be re-engineered to be more efficient

As a process, there is a supporting context for the process

As a process, metrics can be collected to quantify the process and any improvements

As a process, learning from other processes apply

Treat your habits as you would treat any type of business process.
