Get Out In Nature

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.
Robert Louis Stevenson

I read a great article today about the benefits of getting out in nature.

The article was How Much Time Should You Spend Outside, According to Michael Easter (menshealth.com)]

The article had a 20-5-3 rule.

Spend 20 minutes in nature 3 times a week

Spend 5 hours every month in semi-wild areas.

Spend 3 days a year completely in nature, cut off from your everyday life.

For me, spending time in nature has helped during the last year of COVID.

In that regard, I am lucky. The picture for this post is a 5-minute drive and a 15-minute walk from where I live.

Walking along that creek helps keep the stress of every day manageable and keeps my spirit uplifted.

Live the Adventure
