Talking in Circles

Without a strategy, an organization is like a ship without a rudder, going around in circles. It's like a tramp; it has no place to go.
Joel Ross

Every business analyst has experienced topics that seem to go around in circles endlessly.

This is especially frustrating at the beginning of the project when the discussions are around the scope.

The way around talking in circles is to find the stakes that can be put in the ground, what are the things that everyone agrees with 100%

From those stakes, you can build the conversation out. The stakes will ground the conversation and stop the talking in circles.
