Repeating Question

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.
Rainer Maria Rilke

An effective journaling practice is to respond to the same question over a period of time.

Ideally, you do not look at your previous answers until a set period of time has gone by.

While you are answering the question, it may seem like you are answering it the same way, but when you review your answers after the set period of time, you are sometimes surprised how your answer changes.

This can be used whether you are answering the question daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

Sometimes it is interesting how your answers change over time. Sometimes it is interesting how your answers become deeper over time. Sometimes by the end of the process, you have a totally different answer than what you started with.

Live the Adventure
