Match Metrics with Outcomes

Observe due measure, for right timing is in all things the most important factor.
Hesiod

Metrics are a key ingredient for making decisions.

When the metrics don’t match the outcomes the metrics are supposed to measure poor decisions may result.

If a person is using weight as a metric for health, then decisions that are unhealthy but reduce weight will be made.

Businesses will state metrics that don’t align with outcomes in order for consumers to make decisions about buying the product.

Take the time to find the metrics that are close to the outcome and the resulting decisions will be more effective.
