The future is not predetermined, it is waiting for us to discover it.
We are all on a journey in life and the future is unknown. If we are helping another on their journey into the future then we are an imposter because we have not been to the future. We are relating their potential journey in the future to one that we have already taken in the hopes that they will be similar. They could be totally different.
If we take the perspective that we are there to help on their journey and that we will both figure it out as we go, then we are imposters.
But that is ok.
We are still able to help, to give value, to help them on their journey.
