Understanding Starts with Organizing

We all have mental models - the lens through which we see the world that drive our responses to everything we experience. Being aware of your mental models is key to being objective.
Elizabeth Thornton

Approaching any new project, issue, situation begins with discovery and then to understanding what is discovered.

The first part of that understanding is organizing what is discovered.

What are the groupings, frameworks, threads, patterns that can be applied to what is discovered.

Some of these will be useful and some not. The idea is to organize the information from discovery in as many different ways as possible before starting to make any conclusions.

Understanding is a mental model for reality, it is not reality. The better composed the model is the better it will be at driving decisions and future actions.
