A personal book of knowledge (PBOK) has two high level steps.
People usually focus on the first step and ignore the second step until it is too late.
The first step is entering information into your PBOK.
The second step is retrieving information from your PBOK. If you don’t take the second step into account during the first step, much of the knowledge you are entering into your PBOK gets lost.
It is by focusing on the second step that taxonomies, structure, design patterns, and processes are defined.
The second step is where the value is realized. When you start creating your PBOK practice getting information out of your PBOK to help determine how you need to put the information in.
