The Lego Entreprenuer

What's interesting about Lego is it's constantly reminding you that it's a facsimile of something else.
Christopher Miller

I loved playing with Lego as a kid.  When I was young there were only about 10 different kinds of pieces, today there are hundreds of different kinds.

Being an entrepreneur is very much like playing with Lego.  You get an idea of what you want to build and you start putting the pieces together until it is built.  If what you are building isn’t what you want, you simply remove pieces and add more pieces.

An entrepreneur puts the building blocks of a business together in a similar way to solve customers’ problems.

The one difference as an entrepreneur is that you are also responsible for building the pieces.  To be an effective entrepreneur, every time you build a piece you need to take the time to make sure you can use the piece in as many different ways as possible.  As an example, when building websites, rather than building individual pages you build templates that can be reused.  When setting up accounting/bookkeeping set it up so that it can be easily replicated for the next venture.

Over time as you collect more and more lego pieces you get faster and faster at tackling new ventures or pivoting.
