Same Question

The philosophy of the wisest man that ever existed, is mainly derived from the act of introspection.
William Godwin

One way of learning more about yourself or about your life is to ask yourself the same question daily.

It may seem odd to ask yourself the same question, but you won’t answer the question the same way every time.

Part of making this process work is to answer the question without looking at your previous answer. After you have answered the question a dozen or so times, read all your answers and see how they have changed over time. You will find that this process results in deeper understandings and sometimes epiphanies on the topic.

For an even more profound experience, try this when you are asking the question once a month, or once a year.

What would you learn about yourself if you asked yourself what is most important in life and you were asking this once a year? What would you learn 20 years later when you looked at how your answers changed?
