Questions are one of the most effective tools in a business analyst toolkit.
To make questions as effective as possible they need to take in many factors. It may be the same information you are trying to uncover, but the wording is not always the same.
Factors to take into account when crafting the wording include:
- Scope of the project
- Understanding of the domain
- Understanding the terminology of the domain
- Outcomes anticipated
- Stakeholders involved
- Process followed
- History of the project and stakeholders
All of these can affect the wording of questions. Same question, different phrasing.
