Self-reflection is a habit that will pay dividends over time. But just like the stock market, sometimes there will be a loss, and sometimes there will be huge gains. Sometimes there will be long periods where nothing happens.
To make reflection a habit set a time to reflect. In the beginning, you may sit to reflect and nothing comes. This is fine, it is the sitting and the attempt that is creating the habit.
Your brain may fight it at the beginning, but if you keep at it eventually your brain will get into the habit and you will have reflections that are meaningful and help create the life you want.
