Creating your personal book of knowledge (PBOK) follows three basic steps
1. Collect the facts
1. Create interpretations to understand the facts
1. Create interpretations of interpretations to build wisdom
Once you do this you will have your way of thinking that is related to other people’s ways of thinking, both of which are rooted in verifiable facts.
This is laid out in a linear fashion, but in life, it is nowhere near linear. You create interpretations on a few facts or on other people’s interpretations. You then have to go and get facts to support your interpretations. In finding the facts you think of new interpretations and find more interpretations from others. In the end, it is a big spider web.
The spider web is why a good note-taking application is so important. For those less comfortable with technology, I suggest OneNote. If you are more comfortable, learning Obsidian will be well worth it in the end.
