My Daily Thoughts

Always Review

At the end of the day, I sit down for about five minutes and review all the problems I'm working on, research problems or writing problems, and I go to sleep. Then when I wake up in the morning, I've trained myself to not open my eyes and to just lie there and recall the problems and see if there's anything there.

It is so easy to forget.

I create timelines of the memorable experiences in my life. When I review my timelines there are always events in the past six months that I have forgotten.

Reviewing my timelines reinforces the perspective that I am learning and growing. Knowing my accomplishments in the past gives me a boost forward.

Patterns happen in the past. Without reviewing the past we will never see the patterns. We tend to think that we have always thought the way we think today. It is hard to remember how we thought in the past. It is the changing of how we think that shows we are growing.

Journal as much as you can so you have a rich resource to review.
