Advice I Wish I had 10 Years Ago

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.
Soren Kierkegaard

What are the top three pieces of advice I wish I had 10 years ago?

  • Create and publish content

Creating and publishing content, like I am doing with this blog, helps you find your voice, improves your communication, builds an audience, and creates an asset you can use moving forward.  Even if no one reads this blog, through the categories and keywords I have access to my thoughts and ideas.  Publishing them forces me to make those thoughts understandable and complete.

  •  Invest more methodically

Everyday life always gets in the way of long-term habits like investing.  10 years ago if I had the advice of creating an investment plan from that point until I was 100, that included investing as one stream of income I would be better off today.  Luckily I did a lot of it, it was the big picture vision that brought it all together that was unclear.

  • 3. LIve in the Moment

Advice that has served me well recently, that I wish I had 10 years ago was to invest in moments the same way we invest in stocks.  Take the time to determine which moments have the greatest return and invest in those moments.  We gain much more from our experiences than we do from our possessions.
