Welcome
Hi there! My name is Geoff Schroder.
I am a 59 year old freelance business analyst/entrepreneur. I am a single father with three wonderful children and an awesome Australian Shephard dog.
I am passionate about exploring new ideas and paradigms. I consider myself an explorer at heart, both internally and in the external world. I love the feeling that new paradigms, eureka moments, and new perspectives provide. I hope my about page gives you a glimpse into my passions and interests.
All knowledge is connected to all other knowledge. The fun is in making the connections.

I am always curious to learn more and see what’s around the corner. In my spare time, I enjoy pondering unique and interesting topics, paradigms, and tending to my bonsai collection.
Only the curious will learn and only the resolute overcome the obstacles to learning. The quest quotient has always excited me more than the in telligence quotient.

If nothing else, writing is an exploration of myself, what resonates with me, and what inspires me to delve deeper into a subject.
Have a virtual cup of coffee with me
My favorite part of the day is having a cup of coffee in the morning and contemplating ideas.
This site is a way of having a virtual cup of coffee and sharing the topics and ideas I think about.
Writing means sharing. It's part of the human condition to want to share things - thoughts, ideas, opinions.

I also get to share my photography so you get a glimpse of how I see the world around me.

I write everyday in the hopes that once in a while I will write something profound.

What I write about
I write based on what I think about. The exploration of ideas is endless as there are always new paths to explore.
Life is about growth and exploration, not achieving a fixed state of balance. You have a very limited time on earth to experience all that you can. Figuring out how to squeeze the most out of your family, work, and spirituality is your life's purpose. Go do it.

My business analyst role is a significant role in my life. I write about the lessons I learn during my business analyst contracts. I am always learning and honing my craft. Many of my contemplations on business analysis are of the philosophical perspective.
Journaling and knowledge management, life design, and personal growth make up a large part of my life. Again, what I learn and life hacks and short cuts that will help other people is what I write about.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Entrepreneurship, futurism, and understanding where the future is going to take us are topics that I explore frequently. What I learn is what I write about.
And there are some topics that don’t fit anywhere, just for whatever reasons it is something that I contemplate. Sometimes these become some of the most interesting conversations I have.
A philosophy of freedom must set out from the experience of thinking, for it is through this experience of thinking that a human being discovers his own self, finds his bearings as an independent personality.

I share my thoughts, journey, and ideas on this blog. As the ideas grow they may end up as other posts on other sites that I blog on such as JournaledLife.com and Whitepinesoftware.ca.
