In data modeling, part of the normalization process is that every field has one and only one definition.
This is a principle that applies everywhere.
Each process should have one defined outcome. If there is more than one outcome and the process is trying to satisfy both, the process becomes ineffective.
In a RACI chart, there should only be one person who is responsible.
There should be one source of truth for information in an organization.
Anything that is described where the words and, or, also are used can be refined so that it can be defined in a more straightforward way.
Always be on the lookout for things with more than one definition. This is where you can refine and create value.
