Importance of Organization

Intelligence is the ability to take in information from the world and to find patterns in that information that allow you to organize your perceptions and understand the external world.
Brian Greene

One thing that business analysts always have to deal with is chaos.

The chaos comes in many forms:

  • Understanding complicated domains
  • Understanding large volumes of requirements
  • Understanding the status of testing
  • Understanding progress of data migration initiatives
  • Understanding how requirements trace back to business needs
  • Understanding entities and attributes
  • Understanding business processes and the stakeholders involved.

All of the above require the capability to understand and organize large volumes of information.

A good organizational structure can make tasks simple and straightforward.

A bad organizational structure can make the tasks complicated, go in circles, and in the end very frustrating.

Take the time to create a good organization with a good understanding of what the result of the organizing is. The investment of this time will always pay dividends in the end.

Live the Adventure
