Writing the stories of the important events in your life is important for two reasons.
The first reason is that if we don’t write them down we tend to forget about them. For many people, writing their important events and then reviewing them is eye-opening. Even though they haven’t completely forgotten them, they are not in mind. Reviewing them brings them all to mind, and typically there are far more and relatively recent than we would have thought.
The other reason is that we may not know the relevance of the event for many years. There may be lessons we need to learn to understand the event. With the wisdom we have learned, we may understand the event differently and take different life lessons from the event.
Events may also become more relevant based on new events that happen. To see patterns in life we need to remember all the events that pertain to those patterns.
Create your stories so you have the knowledge to learn from your stories.
